15 Epic Yosemite Wedding Venues and Ceremony Spots You’ll Love (2026)
My morning summer wedding at Glacier Point
As a local Yosemite Wedding Photographer, I’m right there with couples eloping in Yosemite! I’m here to share my top 15 ceremony locations with jaw-dropping cliffs, dreamy meadows, and those “are we in a postcard” vibes! It’s no wonder this iconic spot is every adventurous couple’s dream! I got engaged and married right here in the park, so it’s no surprise I spend more time in Yosemite than in my own living room! I’ve seen and personally lived the magic of a Yosemite elopement, and I can’t wait to help you do the same!

Let’s chat about the best places to get married in Yosemite National Park (in no particular order) and what you need to know to pull it off without a hitch (pun intended).
1. Taft Point – Dramatic Cliffside Elopement
Why it’s special: Taft Point is the queen of dramatic backdrops, it’s such an easy hike and unless you hike Half Dome or Cloud’s Rest, you really can’t get views like this anywhere else - think sweeping views of Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, and the Sierra Nevada. If “adventurous romance” is your vibe, this is your spot. Just imagine saying your vows with your hair blowing in the breeze and a sheer drop behind you. Literally iconic. This is a great spot for engagement photos or wedding portraits after you tie the knot! View more wedding portraits at Taft Point here!
Requirements & guest limit: You’ll need a special use permit, and the guest limit is 10 people (yep, that includes you, your photographer, and your officiant). Pro tip: Get there early or pick an off-peak time - trust me, you don’t want a crowd crashing your moment and it happens here a lot, especially at sunset.
2. Glacier Point – Iconic Panoramic Wedding View Glacier Point
Why it’s special: If Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and panoramas of Yosemite are on your elopement mood board, Glacier Point is calling your name!
Requirements & guest limit: Permits are a must, and the guest limit is 50 people. Keep in mind, Glacier Point Road closes from late fall to late spring, so, double-check those dates or get ready to lace up your hiking boots! I’m always up for an adventure, but fair warning .. the off-season hike is about 13 miles uphill. Think of it as the ultimate 9-hour StairMaster challenge! It’s totally worth it, though, and I’m more than happy to take on the trek for any adventurous couple, haha!
3. Yosemite Valley Chapel – Historic Indoor Wedding Venue
Why it’s special: Want a sprinkle of tradition with a Yosemite twist? This adorable chapel has all the charm, surrounded by granite cathedral cliffs and meadows. It’s like a scene from a rom-com, but better! It’s honestly such a cute chapel and you’re guest can explore Yosemite Valley afterwards too! Read here for the blog of a winter wedding at the chapel!
Requirements & guest limit: The chapel fits 125 guests inside, but outdoor ceremonies nearby have different limits. Call the chapel for the full scoop, click here for more information.
4. Cathedral Beach – Riverside Vows with El Capitan Views
Why it’s special: Picture this - saying your vows by the Merced River with El Capitan towering behind you. It’s intimate, beautiful, peaceful, and nature at its finest. Cathedral Beach is located in Yosemite Valley.
Requirements & guest limit: Permits are required (sensing a theme here? You can’t get married without a permit, but it’s super easy to apply - Click here for a step by step!), and you can invite up to 50 guests. Bonus: it’s super accessible, so Grandma and your flower girl won’t need hiking boots!

Why it’s special: Sentinel Dome is so underrated! If you’re dreaming of 360-degree views that are better than Glacier Point, with less crowds, Sentinel Dome is the one! It’s a short, moderate hike to the top, but the views of the park are worth every step! This is also such a dreamy proposal location! If you're at that exciting step, visit my proposal guide page—I'm here to help you plan every detail.
Requirements & guest limit: Guest limit is 11 people, and yes, you’ll need a permit. Pro tip: Pack some cute-but-sensible shoes for the hike - you can always change into heels for the photos or just hide them under your dress!
6. Bridalveil Falls – Epic Waterfall Wedding Backdrop
Why it’s special: This spot is perfect if you want to be up-close to a waterfall and surrounded by the granite cliffs, within the woods! Bonus points if you visit in spring or early summer when the waterfall is at its fullest. I recommend early morning for best lighting and less crowds.
Requirements & guest limit: Permits are required, and you can invite up to 30 guests. This spot is super, super easy to get to, so no one’s breaking a sweat before the ceremony (unless it’s happy tears).

2. Do I need a permit to get married in Yosemite National Park?
A Yosemite elopement is dreamy, but it’s also official business. Every ceremony requires a $150 special use permit to make sure your celebration protects the park’s natural beauty. Need help?
